for beastweek Dec 2011

These are a few pieces i did in New Hampshire at Eric Goodwin's mall stand. We went crazy on everyone who sat down and it was awesome, a lot of fun. Everyone was cool and really enjoyed their drawings very much. My St Pete Isca wall at the con in trade winds hotelllllllllllllllll.......

Probably the greatest caricature con ever. St Pete was awesome and to top it off there was a amazing Dali Museum right around the corner. My wall was different this year, as always i try and do something different to open up knew ways of drawing. Im still trien to find myself as an artist. I really wanted to focus on better technique, presentation, and story telling through my works. I feel that i still have a lot to learn. I got 8th place overall in the best caricaturist category. It was a lot of fun but now back to BEASTED. I have much to do and its getting to be really exciting to see this book come to life.

I did this for Caricaturama Showdown 3000!. It is a warm up for the Isca con in Florida. I was goin for a sick, drugged look while keeping his energy of his love for boxing.  I tried to capture his character but not a hundred % sure i did. Hope the close up helps

Shes all smiles and giggles and he is grumpy and grumpy-err, but yet very cool people. Then the drawing is shown.....Still cool people? He laughs and loves, she says hell no, i hate that, he made me look like a turtle and it looks nothing like me....she storms off....He loves it and he has the wallet. What i call half a reject paid in full.

This was a commission for a friend( Shea) the "Seedless" owner/creator. So he had me draw a tame park sketch of Kyle and his family. I went pretty tame and stiiiiiiiill some how i manage to make him real unhappy. Lol, i heard he sent a pic to Shea flickin him off and told him to draw that. Shea liked it anyway and bought it but i felt bad that he bought it for nothing. This is what i(we)  call a freeject. The twins are happy.

"Crazy Faces"

So, Kamans art shoppes is trying something really cool out to satisfy the enjoyment of the more exaggerated caricatures in a theme park. I think it was Chris Chua and Brad Baley who pitched the idea. Anyway you have to be a certified extreme caricaturist to sell for more money than a regular park sketch. By the way this is Leanne(body artist). As you can see, the regular sketch is on top and the crazy(more exaggerated(more exciting awesomeness;)) is on the bottom. I went off a photo of her for the regular and i feel i got the photo likeness but missed the real feel of her. The crazy one i did mostly from my head and i feel her a lot in that one. So, just thought i would share, enjoy your surf. By the way the top was done in 5 minutes and the crazy one was done in 15ish minutes.

This guy.....E Good, mr Good'n, Beast or just Goodwin, has stayed up 30 hours a night to help edit my art for my book "BEASTED". What a great mutherfucking friend. I'm very lucky to have someone help and believe in my work. Thanks bro, it means a lot.
